The Medium Rectangle Flex Bracket is a Sonance new-construction mounting bracket, sold through the Sonos Architectural by Sonance line. It is not a speaker: it is the ABS frame you fasten to the studs during rough-in so that the drywall crew can cut to a known opening and the installer can drop the speaker in later without hunting for the right cutout position.
Sonance specifies it for 6 in rectangle VX and VXQ models as well as legacy VP rectangle speakers - the same medium rectangle format used by the Sonos In-Wall by Sonance speakers. Snap-on mesh wings extend the bracket for stud bays up to 24 in (610 mm), so a single part covers 16 in and 24 in framing without cutting blocking. Molded centering marks let you align the bracket consistently from room to room, which matters when a run of speakers has to line up down a hallway or across a great room.
Because it is installed before drywall, this bracket is a rough-in item - specify it at the framing stage. For existing walls, use the rectangle retrofit enclosure instead.
