The Ring Smart Lighting Solar Steplight is a small, surface-mounted fixture built for the places a pathlight will not fit: stair risers, deck edges, retaining walls, porch posts and fence rails. It charges from its own integrated solar panel into a rechargeable 18650 lithium-ion cell, with a Micro USB port available if the mounting spot does not get much sun.
Output is up to 50 adjustable lumens at 3500K - deliberately modest, because the job here is marking a trip hazard rather than floodlighting a yard. Motion detection reaches about 15 feet across up to a 120° field of view, and a schedulable dusk-to-dawn glow keeps a low light on the steps all evening before jumping to full brightness on approach. Paired to a Ring Bridge or compatible hub, the steplight groups with other Ring smart lights, responds to Ring camera and doorbell motion, follows schedules and answers Alexa. The black housing is IP66 weather resistant and rated for -4°F to 122°F, and installation takes only a couple of screws.
