This kit contains two Ring A19 Smart LED Bulbs in white plus the Ring Bridge, the hub that connects Ring's Smart Lighting products to the Ring app. The bulbs screw into any standard E26 medium socket - table lamps, porch fixtures, hallway cans - and replace a 60W incandescent with up to 800 adjustable lumens at a 3500K white.
What makes them worth the premium over an ordinary LED is the linking. Through the Bridge, a bulb can switch on when a Ring doorbell or camera detects motion, follow a schedule, run a randomized away pattern while the house is empty, or respond to an Alexa voice command. Dimming is handled in the app and by compatible Alexa devices rather than by a wall dimmer, so the bulbs should be installed on a plain switch. Each bulb is rated for roughly 25,000 hours and is UL listed for damp locations - a sheltered porch or soffit, not direct rain. The Bridge plugs into an indoor outlet and joins a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
