This is a pair of replacement grilles for 8-inch In-Ceiling Speakers by Sonos and Sonance - a finishing part, not a speaker. It is the correct item when original grilles have been damaged, dented, over-painted, corroded in a humid room, or lost during a remodel, and it is also useful when a room is being repainted and you would rather start with fresh grilles than mask and spray the existing ones.
The grilles use the trimless design of the Sonos Architectural range, sitting flush with the ceiling plane with no visible bezel, and they carry the custom perforation pattern Sonos specifies for these speakers. That pattern is part of the acoustic design, which is why an aftermarket grille is not an equivalent substitute. Each grille measures 11.16 inches across for the 8-inch model.
The grilles are paintable, so they can be finished to match ceiling color exactly. Use a light coat and avoid filling the perforations, since heavy paint build-up will audibly dull the speaker's high frequencies. Supplied as a pair, which matches the way the speakers themselves are sold.
