The white finish of the Sonos Arc is the same flagship soundbar in a lighter dress, built for rooms with pale walls, white cabinetry or a light-framed television where a black bar would read as a dark bar across the wall. Inside are eleven Class-D amplifiers driving eight elliptical midwoofers and three silk-dome tweeters.
Upward-firing drivers send height channels off the ceiling, so Dolby Atmos soundtracks extend above and around the listening position rather than staying flat against the screen. A Speech Enhancement mode lifts dialogue without raising the rest of the mix, Night Sound tames loud effects for late viewing, and Trueplay uses an iOS device to measure the room and correct for hard surfaces and awkward placement.
Connection is a single HDMI eARC run to the television, with an optical adapter supplied for older sets and IR sync for the TV remote. Arc doubles as a serious music system through Apple AirPlay 2 and the Sonos app, and it expands later with a Sonos Sub and a pair of rear surround speakers.
