The Sonos Arc is the flagship soundbar of the original Arc generation, built around eleven Class-D amplifiers driving eight elliptical midwoofers and three silk-dome tweeters. Upward-firing drivers bounce height channels off the ceiling, so Dolby Atmos material opens out above and around the seating position instead of staying pinned to the screen.
Dialogue was a design priority. Sonos tuned the center channel with film sound engineers and added a Speech Enhancement mode that lifts voices without raising the whole mix, while Night Sound compresses loud effects for late viewing. Trueplay measures the room with an iOS device and corrects for hard walls, glass and furniture placement.
A single HDMI eARC connection carries audio from the television, with an optical adapter in the box for older sets, and the bar syncs to the TV remote over IR. Beyond film, Arc works as a full music system with Apple AirPlay 2, the Sonos app and voice control. Add a Sonos Sub and a pair of rear speakers later to build out a full surround system.
