It is the straightforward fix for a Sub placed mid-room, an Amp mounted in a closet away from the receptacle, or an Arc on a TV wall with power in an inconvenient spot.
Sonos publishes compatibility for Arc Ultra, Arc, Amp, Beam, Ray, Five, Sub 4, Sub (Gen 3), Sub Mini, Playbase and Play:5 (Gen 2), so integrators can carry a single long-cable part number for most of the line. Using the manufacturer's own cable also keeps the connector and jacket consistent with the speaker rather than mixing in a third-party cord of unknown build.
