That combination matters in real installations. If a room has marginal Wi-Fi coverage, or if a client wants a rock-solid connection for a permanently placed speaker, the Ethernet leg removes the wireless variable entirely. The 3.5 mm leg lets you feed the same speaker from a turntable preamp, a keyboard, a mixer output, or any other analog source, so a single Era 100 or Era 300 can serve as both a streaming endpoint and a local playback device.
