The Shure WL185m is a low-profile cardioid condenser lavalier for wireless bodypack systems. It is part of the updated WL18Xm line that Shure introduced in 2024 to replace the long-running WL185. The cardioid pattern focuses on the wearer's voice and cuts down room noise, which makes it a dependable lapel mic for meeting presenters, teachers, pastors and stage speakers.
Compared with the earlier model, Shure lists lower self-noise, better RF immunity, more dynamic range and a higher maximum SPL, along with a body that is 8 mm shorter and lighter to wear. The tie clip rotates in 90-degree steps so the capsule can be aimed correctly on a lapel, tie or collar. This version comes in black and ends in a TA4F (4-pin mini, TQG) connector, which plugs straight into Shure bodypacks with a TA4M input, including BLX, GLX-D, SLX-D, QLX-D and ULX-D transmitters. A tie clip, snap-fit foam windscreen and zippered storage bag come with the mic.
