    Description

    Crestron CEN-IO-COM-102

    Ethernet / Cresnet 2-Port RS-232 I/O Expansion Module

The Crestron CEN-IO-COM-102 is a compact I/O expansion module that adds two bidirectional RS-232 serial (COM) ports to a Crestron control system across a standard IP network or Cresnet. It lets integrators place serial control right at the equipment being controlled, so displays, projectors, matrix switchers, and other RS-232 devices can be driven from a remotely located processor without long serial cable runs.

The two COM ports are individually addressable and support the RS-232 signaling and handshaking commonly required by AV and system devices. Powered over Cresnet or an external supply and configured through Crestron programming, the module expands processor connectivity economically and is well suited to distributed rooms where serial endpoints are spread throughout a facility.
