Biamp Vocia PLD-1
Passive End-of-Line Supervision Device
The Vocia PLD-1 is a passive end-of-line device that brings continuous speaker-line supervision to constant-voltage paging and voice-evacuation circuits driven by compatible Vocia amplifiers. Fitted at the far end of a loudspeaker run, it works with a pilot tone produced by the amplifier so the system can verify, in real time, that the cabling and connected loudspeakers remain intact.
Because monitoring rides on the existing speaker pair, the PLD-1 needs no extra wiring and mounts discreetly at the last device on the line. Should a break, short, or disconnection interrupt the circuit, the loss of the returning pilot tone raises a fault within the Vocia system, supporting life-safety readiness. The compact, surface-mount housing fits neatly into ceiling voids and enclosures and is built for dependable long-term service across large distributed installations. The PLD-1 is paired with the VA-8600 amplifier platform.
