Move 2 is the full-size portable in the Sonos range — the one you set up as a permanent room speaker and then carry outside when needed. Unlike most portables, it produces real stereo from one cabinet: two angled tweeters handle the highs and create left-right separation, while a dedicated midwoofer covers vocals and bass, each driven by its own class-D amplifier.
The 44 Wh battery runs up to 24 hours on a charge and drops onto the included wireless charging base when it is back indoors. Away from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3 takes over; on the network it runs Wi-Fi 6 with AirPlay 2 and full Sonos multiroom grouping. Automatic Trueplay is continuously listening to the surroundings and retuning as you move the speaker between a kitchen counter, a deck and a campsite.
An IP56 rating covers dust and high-pressure water spray, and the housing uses shock-absorbing materials for the knocks that come with a portable. Voice control is built in via Sonos Voice Control and Amazon Alexa, with a hardware mic switch on the back. The USB-C port supports charging, line-in and wired Ethernet with the appropriate Sonos adapters.
