Era 300 is Sonos' dedicated spatial audio speaker, engineered so the height and width information in a Dolby Atmos mix actually lands where the mixer intended. Its hourglass cabinet houses six drivers — four tweeters aimed forward, left, right and straight up, plus two angled woofers — each with its own class-D amplifier. The result is a wide, enveloping soundstage from one unit, with enough low end to carry a room by itself.
It runs on Wi-Fi 6 for reliable multiroom playback and adds Bluetooth 5.3 for guests and devices off the network. Apple AirPlay 2 and the Sonos app handle streaming services, radio and local libraries, while Trueplay tuning measures the room and compensates for surfaces and placement. Voice control is built in through Sonos Voice Control and Amazon Alexa, with a hardware mic switch on the rear for privacy. Add a pair as rear surrounds to an Arc or Beam soundbar and you gain genuine height channels behind the seating position. A USB-C port accepts a line-in signal using the Sonos Line-In Adapter, sold separately. The matte black finish disappears into darker rooms and media spaces.
