Era 100 SL carries the same acoustic package as the Era 100 - two angled tweeters for stereo separation, one midwoofer for vocals and bass, and three Class D amplifiers - but omits the microphone array entirely. There is no voice assistant and no on-board mic, which makes it the right choice for bedrooms, conference rooms, medical offices, classrooms, and any installation where a microphone-equipped speaker would raise questions.
Everything else in the Sonos experience remains: WiFi 6 for synchronized playback across rooms, Bluetooth 5.3 for direct streaming from a phone or laptop, Apple AirPlay 2, and a USB-C port that works with the Sonos Line-In Adapter for a turntable or the Combo Adapter for wired Ethernet. Touch controls with a volume slider sit on the top panel. Two units can be grouped as a stereo pair or configured as rear surrounds behind a Sonos soundbar, and the cabinet matches the Era 100 in size, so it drops into the same shelf or bracket.
