Era 100 SL is the microphone-free version of the Era 100 and shares its acoustic design: two angled tweeters that produce stereo separation from a single cabinet, one midwoofer for vocals and low frequencies, and three Class D amplifiers. Removing the microphone array removes voice control entirely, which is often the deciding factor in bedrooms, exam rooms, conference rooms, classrooms, and hospitality installations with privacy policies.
Network and streaming capability are unchanged. WiFi 6 handles synchronized playback across a Sonos system, Bluetooth 5.3 covers direct streaming from phones and laptops, and Apple AirPlay 2 is supported. The USB-C port accepts the Sonos Line-In Adapter for a turntable or other analog source, or the Combo Adapter when wired Ethernet is required alongside line-in. Touch controls with a capacitive volume slider sit on the top panel. Two SL units make a stereo pair or serve as rear surrounds behind a Sonos soundbar, and the cabinet matches the Era 100 dimensionally so brackets and shelf plans carry over.
