Built with Sonance for permanent outdoor installation, this pair of passive speakers is rated IP66 and tested to Mil Spec 810 for humidity, salt spray, UV exposure and temperature swings, with an operating range from -13°F to 149°F. That makes them suitable for eaves, patios, pool decks and coastal properties where a standard indoor speaker would not survive.
Each cabinet is sealed and pairs a high-excursion pivoting woofer with a 1-inch tweeter. The pivoting woofer is the key install advantage: it lets you aim low and mid energy toward the seating area even when the speaker body is fixed under an eave, so coverage stays even instead of firing over people's heads. Nominal impedance is 8 ohms with 89 dB sensitivity and 5 W to 130 W power handling.
They are passive and require amplification. Connected to a Sonos Amp, the pair becomes a Sonos zone with a Sonos-developed DSP and limiter profile that protects the drivers at outdoor listening levels. FastMount brackets, grilles and terminal covers are included. The matte black finish recedes against dark soffits, stone and shaded eaves. Professional installation is recommended.
