Each speaker uses a 6.5-inch polypropylene woofer with a 1-inch tweeter in an 8-ohm passive design, so it needs an external amplifier — the Sonos Amp is the intended partner.
Paired with a Sonos Amp, the speakers unlock custom Trueplay tuning and a Sonos-developed DSP profile written specifically for this driver set, which extends usable low-frequency response and keeps the tonal balance consistent from room to room. Once tuned, the ceiling pair behaves like any other Sonos room: grouped, controlled and streamed from the Sonos app.
Installation uses Sonance's Roto-Lock quick-mounting system for a fast, secure fit into drywall, and both round and square paintable magnetic grilles are supplied so the finished look can match the ceiling detail. The bezel-less grilles sit flush and can be painted to disappear entirely. A single Sonos Amp can drive up to three pairs. Professional installation is recommended.
