Sonos Amp is the workhorse of the Sonos Architectural line: a compact, network-connected two-channel amplifier rated at 125 watts per channel into 8 ohms, built to power passive in-ceiling, in-wall, bookshelf, or outdoor speakers as a full member of a Sonos system. Two custom banana-plug speaker terminals handle the connection, an auto-detecting RCA subwoofer output with a 50-110 Hz crossover adds low end, and an RCA line-in brings a turntable or other analog source onto the network.
HDMI ARC lets the Amp take audio directly from a television, so a pair of architectural speakers can serve as a discreet TV system with support for stereo PCM, Dolby Digital, and DTS Digital Surround. Dual 10/100 Ethernet ports simplify hardwired installs and daisy-chained gear, AirPlay 2 covers Apple sources, and Trueplay tuning is available with compatible speakers. Capacitive touch controls sit on top, a purpose-built heatsink keeps it cool, and the half-width chassis is designed for rack mounting in an equipment closet.
