Sonos Port is the bridge between a Sonos system and traditional audio gear. It connects to an existing integrated amplifier, receiver or powered subwoofer chain and lets that equipment stream music services, internet radio, podcasts and audiobooks from the Sonos app, in sync with every other Sonos zone in the house.
Outputs cover both analog RCA and digital coax, so the internal digital-to-analog converter can be used or bypassed in favor of a preferred external DAC. The analog line-in works in the other direction: connect a turntable preamp, CD player or cable box and that source becomes available throughout the Sonos system. An automatic 12V trigger wakes a connected amplifier when playback starts, which keeps a rack from idling all day.
Apple AirPlay 2, voice control through Alexa or Google Assistant, and adjustable bass, treble and loudness are all supported, along with dual Ethernet ports for hardwired installations. The matte black chassis is sized to sit unobtrusively in an equipment rack or on a shelf.
